Hello Horror Fans!

If we haven't met yet, my name is Elena Stecca and I am an indie filmmaker, known for award winning short films,  "Brace Face" and "The Solitaire", based in Bellingham, WA.

About the film:

Silent Threads is a short film,  involves, Catina “Cat” Friedman, who endures daily pestering by her coworker Ralph. When Cat and Ralph are prompted to take on a controversial and scandalous story her excitement turns horror as she is gruesomely silenced. Silent Threads personifies the true struggle for women to be heard and recognized, with some shockingly wicked Special FX planned.

How it Came About?

​

I was in a bit of shock after recently hearing a certain big-time film producer ('ehem, Mr. Blum) state that he simply could not find a female horror film director. Come on now!

​

Though vastly underrepresented in the film industry (statistics here), we really do exist! So does Bigfoot, but that's for another project.

Seriously though, there are talented women working behind the camera, so naturally, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to demonstrate what we can do by creating a horror film led by an all women crew.
